To enroll your child in an Australian school as an international student from Bangladesh, you’ll need to secure a Student Visa (Subclass 500) for your child. If your child is under 18 years of age, you, as a parent or legal guardian, may also apply for a Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590) to accompany and support them during their studies.

1. Student Visa (Subclass 500) for School Students:

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age Requirement: Your child must be at least 6 years old to apply for a student visa.
• Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE): Obtain a CoE from a registered Australian educational institution confirming your child’s enrollment in a full-time course.
• Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Requirement: Demonstrate that the primary purpose of your child’s stay in Australia is education and that they intend to return to Bangladesh upon completion.
• Financial Capacity: Provide evidence of sufficient funds to cover tuition fees, living expenses, and travel costs.
• English Proficiency: Depending on the school’s requirements, proof of English language proficiency may be necessary.
• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): Arrange health insurance for your child for the duration of their stay in Australia.

Application Process:

1. Secure Enrollment: Apply to Australian schools and obtain a CoE for your child.
2. Prepare Documentation: Gather necessary documents, including your child’s passport, CoE, proof of financial capacity, and health insurance details.
3. Online Application: Create an account and submit the visa application through the ImmiAccount portal.
4. Biometric Data: Your child may need to provide biometric information at an Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Bangladesh.
5. Health Examination: Undergo any required medical examinations as instructed.

2. Student Guardian Visa (Subclass 590):

This visa allows a parent, legal guardian, or relative to stay in Australia as the guardian of a student under 18 years of age.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Relationship to Student: You must be the student’s parent, legal guardian, or a relative aged 21 years or older.
• Financial Capacity: Demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself and the student during your stay.
• Health Insurance: Obtain adequate health insurance for the duration of your stay in Australia.
• Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Requirement: Show that your stay in Australia is temporary and for the purpose of caring for the student.

Application Process:

1. Prepare Documentation: Collect necessary documents, including your passport, proof of relationship to the student, evidence of financial capacity, and health insurance details.
2. Online Application: Submit your application through the ImmiAccount portal.
3. Biometric Data: Provide biometric information at an AVAC in Bangladesh.
4. Health Examination: Complete any required medical examinations as instructed.

Important Considerations:

• Work Rights: The Student Guardian Visa does not permit you to work in Australia.
• Accommodation and Welfare: As a guardian, you must provide appropriate accommodation and welfare arrangements for the student.
• Duration of Stay: The visa duration aligns with the student’s course length or until the student turns 18, whichever comes first.
